RUS 270 - The Twentieth-Century Russian Novel (in Translation) Instructor

This course introduces students to the rich literary tradition of twentieth-century Russia. We begin with the Silver Age and proceed to the great writers of the 1920s (including Bulgakov, and Zamiatin), Soviet dissident texts, and the early years of the post-Soviet period. No knowledge of Russian required or expected. Fulfills the cultural diversity requirement.
Students entering 2012: satisfies the Literary Studies, Creative Writing, and Rhetoric distribution requirement.
Students entering before 2012: satisfies Literature distribution requirement.
