FRE 220 - Portraits of Women

Literature treating portraits of women in French and Francophone texts, films, music, and painting. Discussion of issues such as national identity, religion and morality, colonialism, and the status of women.
Students entering 2012 and after: satisfies the distribution requirement in Literary Studies, Creative Writing, and Rhetoric.
Students entering before 2012: satisfies Literature distribution requirement.

French 201 or above. (Not offered 2013-14.)
