Course designed to foster cultural awareness and literacy about post-colonial French-speaking Africa and sub-Saharan cinema. Typical filmmakers: Sembène, Mambety, J.M. Téno, A. Sissako, S. Cissé. Class discussions will be conducted in French. Required weekly screenings.
Students entering 2012 and after: satisfies the Visual and Performing Arts distribution requirement.

Prerequisites & Notes
Any course numbered 220 or above. (Not offered 2013-14.)
