MUS 227 - History of the Orchestra

The social and institutional history of the orchestra in Western civilization from the Baroque to the present.  No background experience in music is required. 

Satisfies a major requirement in Music.
Satisfies a minor requirement in Music.
Students entering 2012 and after: satisfies Visual and Performing Arts distribution requirement.
Students entering before 2012: satisfies fine arts distribution requirement.
