LAT 266 - Latin Philosophical Writing: The Summum Bonum

This course explores how to live well from the perspective of representative Roman writers. Cicero and Seneca will provide the Stoic viewpoint, countered later in the course by Lucretius and Horace.  

Satisfies a major requirement in Classics.
Satisfies an interdisciplinary minor requirement in Global Literary Theory.
Students entering 2012 and after: satisfies Philosophical and Religious Perspectives.
Students entering before 2012: satisfies literature distribution requirement.

Prerequisites & Notes
Students who have taken a LAT course beyond 201 should enroll in this course as LAT 366.
