CHE 341 - Topics in Inorganic Chemistry: Organometallic Chemistry

The intersection of organic and inorganic chemistry.  The synthesis, modeling, spectroscopy, and reactions of organometallic complexes will be discussed. Topics include physical methods ( ¹H, ¹³C, and heteroatom NMR; EPR; Evan’s method; IR/Raman; UV-Vis, and others), coordination chemistry, 18-electron rule, Ligand Field Theory, ligand synthesis, organometallic reaction mechanisms, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis.
