REL 263 - Scripting the Word

This highly collaborative course will partner students with professionals from InLighten Films, a company that produces very short films for churches that follow the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), a calendar of weekly Bible readings published in 1994. Many Protestant Christian denominations use the RCL as a guide to choosing scripture passages for worship. Working in teams, students will research biblical passages and historical events and actors to generate script summaries that InLighten filmmakers will use to produce eight films per semester. Students will also assist in aspects of film production.
