PHI 212 - Metaphysics Instructor
Griffith
This course will serve as an introduction to the philosophical field of inquiry known as metaphysics. In general, we will be exploring and wondering about certain fundamental aspects of reality. We will think about the following questions, among others: What kinds of things exist (Ordinary objects like tables and chairs? Fictional objects? Persons?)? What kinds of changes can different kinds of things undergo and still be what they are? What is time, and how do we travel through it (what are the implications if we can travel back in time)? What are causes? Do we have free will? Why is there a universe?
Counts as an elective for the Philosophy major and minor.
Satisfies the Philosophical and Religious Perspectives requirement.
