PHI 230 - Philosophy of Medicine

Introduction to the conceptual foundations of medicine, especially the concepts of health and illness, professional intervention, healing, controlling the time and manner of dying, placebo, pain and suffering, personal and social responsibility for disease, and the relationships between medicine and science, law, politics and drug/device manufacturers.
