SPA 271 - Hispanic Humanities Instructor

Spanish 271 / Spanish 272 is a two-course sequence that will replace the former SPA 270. The sequence is designed to be a more in-depth introduction to the foundational knowledge and theoretical approaches to Hispanic cultural production from the Middle Ages to the present across primary sources, genres, geographical and temporal borders. The overarching goal is to ensure both breadth and depth before students take more focused upper-level classes at the 300 and 400 level
271 is more focused on texts from the Hispanic Literary and Cultural Traditions of the Medieval Ages to the 1800s.
Spring 2021
While this class will only meet remotely, professor will offer occasional, optional, in-person meetings (not during class meeting time).
Satisfies a requirement in the Hispanic Studies major and minor.
Satisfies a requirement in the Gender & Sexuality Studies major and minor.
Satisfies a requirement in the Latin American Studies major and interdisciplinary minor.
Satisfies a requirement in the Global Literary Theory interdisciplinary minor.
Satisfies the Literary Studies, Creative Writing, and Rhetoric requirement.
Satisfies the Cultural Diversity requirement.
Prerequisites & Notes Spanish 260 or its equivalent.
