GER 459 - Babylon Berlin
Cultural analysis of Berlin during the Weimar Republic, 1918-1933. Texts to be discussed include Alfred Döbin’s Berlin Alexanderplatz and Irmgard Keun’s Das kunstseidene Mädchen. Films include the TV series Babylon Berlin as well as film adaptations of Döblin’s novel by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Burhan Qurbani.
