POL 447 - Seminar: Election Reform Instructor
G. Bullock
This seminar examines current issues related to voting and elections in the United States. Perspectives from other countries will be explored as well. Students will read about and discuss how the consequences of election design choices influences who votes, when they vote, why they vote, and how they vote. They will both analyze arguments about voter suppression, voter fraud, gerrymandering, and other perceived electoral problems and deliberate about proposed reforms to America’s electoral system, including vote-by-mail, ranked choice voting, proportional representation, and more.
