BIO 260 - Biology of Water Pollution Instructor
J. Spillman
In this seminar, students will explore a variety of topics and primary research on water pollution and how water pollution affects biological systems, from organisms to ecosystems. Topics include aquatic toxicology, organic pollutants, eutrophication, biological contaminants and water remediation. Students will focus on communication skills, literature research and ability to analyze the topics and relate them back to local community issues. The goal is to give students a knowledge base to think critically about issues that affect them and problem solving skills in an increasingly complex world where water pollution and water quality are integral to the health of the environment.
