FRE 351 - (A)temporal: Women in Quebec Cinema

Instructor
Robu

In front of or behind the camera, women create movies in which they jolt the patriarchal structure and (re)present particular forms of time crafted as counternarratives. Using cultural and historical elements, as well as formal film analysis, this course will introduce (a)temporal feminine/feminist figures and stories from Québec cinema. The corpus of the course will be explored using multiple theoretical, critical, and conceptual perspectives, and will allow for a comprehensive understanding of woman’s media production, including their backgrounds and politics.
