REL 268 - Hindu Gods and Goddesses Instructor
Patel
The primary focus of this course is to understand the myriad representations of Hindu gods and goddesses across pre-modern narratives, material objects, and contemporary rituals. This seminar utilizes several group and experiential assignments to help students understand how Hindu practitioners and non-practitioners can encounter and interact with different forms of divinity in Hindu traditions. The final assignment is a collaborative project in which students will design, script, and produce a 45-minute podcast on the historical establishment, development, and flourishing of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Charlotte.
