In this course, we’ll explore the diverse genres of academic writing, from case studies in psychology to lab reports in STEM. We’ll practice making scholarly arguments and integrating reputable evidence to engage in academic conversations across fields.
Academic writing also involves understanding rhetoric, audience, and purpose. We’ll explore these aspects by analyzing sample texts and writing our own. During the process, you’ll get feedback to help you sharpen your ability to adapt your voice for different academic contexts. By the end of the course, you’ll have a comprehensive portfolio that showcases your versatility as a writer; you’ll also be ready to take on advanced coursework, research, and any writing that comes your way!
