Wynn
This course explores the intersections of queer theory and theological studies. Students will read foundational works in queer theology that engage queerness, transness, gender, sex, and sexuality alongside core questions of theology and religion. In doing so, the course examines the relationship between queerness and religion exposing the tensions and generative possibilities. The second half turns to public figures who have navigated queer and religious identity, reading their own writings alongside scholarly analyses of their lives and work.
