Communication Studies Courses

Open to all  levels of students, COM 101 provides an introduction to the theory and practice of oral communication.  The 200-level classes are also open to all levels of students, without prerequisite; they focus on introductory concepts of the process of communication. The 300-level courses offer advanced study of more specialized topics in a class setting; some have prerequisites. COM 395 provides individual students the opportunity for advanced study of topics in communication studies, with prerequisites of COM 101 or 201 and permission of the instructor required.  COM 495 serves as the capstone course for the Communication Studies interdisciplinary minor, open only to those senior interdisciplinary minors who have fulfilled the necessary prerequisites.

An interdisciplinary minor is available in Communication Studies.  See the interdisciplinary minor section of the catalog for details.
