SOC 220 - Culture, Media and Society in the Digital Age

This course examines the role of media in modern society. We focus on the ways that information technology impacts our social relations and experiences. Throughout the class we learn about, define, and apply concepts related to new forms of social communication - social media, crowdsourcing, virtual digital communities, and microblogging - seeking to evaluate our changing notions of selfhood and participation in social relations today.

Satisfies a major requirement in Sociology.
