ENG 307 - Forms of Fiction: Home? Instructor
Flick
Home: a word often at the center of writing and definitely at the center of this fiction writing course. Like pigeons circling to roost, we will interrogate what home means through multiple genres. Literature, music, maps, recipes, purposeful observation, pop culture, and built structures will come into play.
We will examine the problem of home, the complication of home, the ease of home through a variety of lenses, fracturing preconceived notions and imagining unexpected worlds. Plan to be creative and inquisitive. We will craft very short and very long stories, in traditional, nontraditional, and hybrid fictional forms.
Satisfies the Innovation requirement for the English major.
Satisfies an interdisciplinary minor requirement in Global Literary Theory.
Satisfies the LTRQ Ways of Knowing requirement.
