This course focuses on research methods used by scholars to study gender and sexuality, with particular attention to research by and about women, gender-expansive individuals, and sexual minorities.
Students will learn about various research methods by engaging in research exercises that allow them to try out different methods, including ethnography, interviews, rhetorical analysis, archival research, and survey research. The end product will be a research proposal that can be used to apply for grant funding, pursue an independent study, or write a senior thesis.
Satisfies Gender and Sexuality Studies major and minor requirement.
