FRE 343 - Mediterranean Ecologies: A Multi-Media approach Instructor
Vessier
What is the Mediterranean today? What can Mediterranean ecologies tell us, regarding our context of ecological and migratory “crises”? In this class, students will examine the different roles of Mediterranean ecologies in literature and art from Morocco, Algeria, Southern France, and Senegal. More than focusing on borders and nations, students will focus on the Mediterranean to study how environments, from the sea and the desert to the subterranean world, intersects with gender, migration, and social justice, among others.
