SOC 381 - Global South Disability Instructor

This advanced undergraduate course offers a critical examination of the intersection between disability studies and the Global South, shedding light on the diverse experiences of individuals with disabilities in regions often overlooked in mainstream discourse. While the primary focus is on a sociological lens, supplemented by an interdisciplinary approach, students will delve into the multidimensional factors influencing disability in the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, students will analyze the distinctive strategies and initiatives implemented by communities and governments to tackle the complex challenges presented.
