ECO 232 - Economics of Transition

Examination of the legacy of the Soviet economic system in theory and practice. Critical analysis of the transformation from central planning to market-oriented systems including macroeconomic stabilization, market liberalization, and institutional development. Case studies include Russia, China, central and eastern Europe, and the Baltic states.
